DuPage Legal Aid

DuPage Bar Legal Aid Service is open to residents of DuPage County Illinois.

Telephone screenings or “intakes” from applicants seeking pro bono (free) legal services are conducted daily, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Intake Coordinator conducts interviews on the telephone to determine whether the applicant meets the financial and subject matter guidelines of Legal Aid. This screening process may result in assignment to a pro bono attorney, assignment to an in-house attorney, referral to another source for legal assistance, or rejection for failure to meet guidelines.  To be screened, call (630) 653-6212, during the hours indicated.

Applicants who reside outside of DuPage County, but are applying for pro bono legal assistance with a case under the jurisdiction of the DuPage County court must first apply through their local Legal Aid service.  If qualified by the local service, the case will be referred to DuPage Bar Legal Aid.

If you are seeking pro bono legal assistance for a different type of case, you may call Prairie State Legal Services of DuPage at (630) 690-2130.  For Prairie State offices outside of DuPage County, see their website.

If you are an attorney who would like to volunteer your services or contribute financially to DuPage Bar Legal Aid, please call (630) 653-6212.  You may also find information and forms required by attorneys for DuPage Legal Aid cases on this website - DCBA member login is required.
